When thinking about placing your order there are a few things to consider.

1) How many items do I need?
2) What color item do I want?
3) How do I want the item decorated? (embroidery, 
   printed, engraved, debossed, etc.)
4) What color(s) decoration do I want?
5) What are the sizes I need?
6) When do I need my order by?
7) Do I have the proper artwork or do I need art done for me?

Of course the custom part of the process is in fact the artwork.  We have a full service art department and are happy to help you with your designs or create one for you.  The following is a list of prefered formats for existing artwork.

Vector Based Formats:
1) Adobe Illustrator (.ai)
2) Encapsulated Post Script (.eps)
3) Windows Metafile (.wmf)
4) Adobe PDF (.pdf)

Pixle Based Formats: 150 DPI minimum at 100%.
1) Adobe Photoshop (.psd)
2) TIFF (.tif)
3) Bitmap (.bmp)

JPEG (.jpg) files are the most common types of image files and are used mostly for viewing purposes only.  JPEGs are condensed into very small files for easier transfer and storage and in most cases the files need to be re-created before using as original artwork.
